ok dudes... i should have written this days ago or rather a week ago as soon as i touched down in Singapore... however, i think i was just too tired to blog... mentally... i have been on the net.. .finding my feet... fear of feeling lost (which i am)... missing my girl badly... and many more...
it is a tiring trip so far... firstly... my parents insistance on bringing my to the various food stalls... for some reason i have not had 'local' food for a long while... insisting that even if there are it is a pale comparison to what we get in Singapore... please... please ladies and gentlemen... no matter how good food in singapore is, it is not THAT good... and no matter how bad food in Perth is (local Singaporean, whichever ethnic group you prefer), isnt that bad... and there are equivalents to the bests... secondly... they assume that i cant cook... as my dad says... 'main campak2' meaning 'throwing in ingredients without a thought'... i think that's what it means... in any case i hope you get the drift...
apart from that i hate the fact that my dad tries to act like a tourist guide... i know i have been away relatively long, 2-3years... however, i havent been away THAT long.. like the whole of Singapore have been torn down and rebuilt again... please dudes... i know more about its history than the average Daryl Tay... Singapore's Wannabe... and my dad too assumes that i am stupid... so there you go... i think the next time he says such things i shall tell him off... cos no one in this family does...
well, the development of the airport did catch me by surprise. i knew that Changi Airport has to keep itself 'up to date' with the times if it were to remain relevant with the times as an International Airport... unlike some airports... ahem... like ... ahem... Perth...
there was this 'open' toilet... it had no doors... no actual obstacle between toilet and the outside world... wow!... perhaps that epitomises Singapore's recent openness policy... hmmm... maybe i should take that back... cos Singapore despite its claims can never reverse that psychology... take for example when they decided to consult the public about bringing F1 into Singapore... Singaporeans said yes... but the government said no... so why consult in the first place BIYATCH!!! i mean... i have said that we singaporeans know next to nothing (for obvious katak bawah tempurung reasons) but if there is one thing that we know very well is our home... Singapore... ok digressing...
and then there was the free internet consoles... i have heard from friends of mine... it wasnt the first time but it was the first time that i saw it...
so when me and fidah eventually decided to get our passports stamped we proceeded to the 'Singaporean Passport' counter... THANK GOD... the guy was friendly... you know not one of those (usually women) who will look at you blankly and answer .. 'hmm'... to every question... the funny thing is that they wouldnt do that to foreigners... well except maybe Indian, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani nationals... for obvious reasons.... (i wonder if that would do that to Shah Rukh Khan or Ms Rai)... hence the double standards... that was a nice welcome...
ok now at the luggage belt... Fidah was carrying her Corsica Apple Strudle thing... which i impolitely refused to carry... WHAT"S THE DEAL WITH THESE APPLE STRUDDDLLEESSSS!!!!! DONT THEY SELL APPLE STRUDDLES IN SINGAPORE?????? HAH HAH!! HAH! HAH!!! C...&^*%*&^%&^%*&^!!!!! in any case... so took off those 30kg plus luggage... (mine was 7-8kg)... and proceeded to the gate... i was praying deep inside... 'o please, dear lord... dont let those people outside be my entourage...'
so as i passed each and every person with those expectant faces, i was sincerely hoping that i recognised none of them.. thank god... none so far... and then i saw my mother... and then at the end of the line... Saddiq my homey... and that's it!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!
ok so far so good... so on with the show....
it was humid and bright outside... i knew i would perspiring soon...
