the evil empire is impending on us... the shadows of the sun looms, while we, the little people are left helpless at the mercy of someone else's...

the weekend summed up

Thursday, October 26, 2006

if last week was Bellamy... this week its best summed up with two digits... 0-2...

why did they lose?

Paul Tomkins

Wednesday, October 18, 2006

i like it when writers are a bit biased. but not up to the point of condescending others...

Paul Tomkins is one such fella.

that bit of scouser charm; red tinted myopia; quite a good flair, waxing lyrical whenever he speaks of our beloved Liverpool Football Club...

despite that he is quite honest, really.

Alright, with abated breath i await for tonight's game against Bordeux...

...When you walk...
... through a storm...
.....

give it away...

when you are doing three writing pieces at the same time, one of them is bound to be give way.

my thoughts about my David Mamet wannabe masterpiece have come to a screeching halt. i have lost all love for it exactly on act 2 scene 3 line 45...

Meiling finds out that Alex slept with Mimi.
(background music: nyeeeettttt....borrowed from the bold and beautiful)

i willl shelve it for now. maybe get back when my head isnt as clogged as my arteries...

seriously i have gone a bit OC on this one. have lost my artistic integrity by dispensing with my theatre roots and embracing its Hollywood's bastard cousin...

a cup of tea madam?

alright, perhaps somebody should place their Reeboks or Adidas or even better still their Ted Bakers on my shiny brown ass with all their might...

just got round the bend...

give it away...

Craig Bellamy

Sunday, October 15, 2006

my week and weekend is best summed up in a word and a gargoyle of fella - Bellamy.

Crouchie might be admired but after Alonso, he's my hero... that crazy fella...

at last he broke his league scoring duck. one for Wales, the other for You Will Never Walk Alone Liverpool....

and now, excuse me (as the camera zooms out) while i bellow out an evil laughter...

uninspired and worn out...

Wednesday, October 04, 2006

lately i have been feeling uninspired and worn out. i am sure some of you might have gotten the hint by my sparing blog entries and equally unimaginative ones whenever i do so.

during those uninspired moments whose concrete equivalent is that of a dark gorging valley, i seek for inspiration in long lost music albums and cds (cassettes?) i found two...

one was Hail to the Thief by Radiohead and the other U2's 1993 effort, Zooropa. ok maybe Hail to the Thief is not so ancient after all but if you havent been listening to it for more than 2 months that is a bloody long time. as for Zooropa, the year that was produced is self explanatory.

one thing both albums have in common is its use of electronic gadgets, weird sounds, and its randomness... well that's one would have thought on a first listen...

but that's the beauty i would guess.... with so much chaos, there is a pattern that a listeners would look out for. sometimes it can be a needle in a haystack exercise. sometimes it would be a eureka moment...

fortunately for me on both listens, the feelings belong to the latter category.

i have always believed that good albums, well-written songs sound better on the umpteenth listen. ageless, timeless and ultimately in pristine condition...

it is different though, when a song becomes nostalgic. because, being nostalgic dates the effort. one's emotions and thoughts time travel to immerse onself in the experience.

i shall give two polar opposites of an example.

nostalgic: Air Supply.

timeless: Hendrix.

how many musicians research Air Supply as a piece of groundbreaking music like they do with Hendrix?

like i've said in the beginning, lately i have been feeling uninspired and worn out. but it is inspiring to be able to make sense in something when there's so much randomness...
